How to
Create the template in the EHR if you has not done so. The template is as the following:
"Birthday": "|DOB|",
"Age": |AGE|,
"Gender": "|PATIENT SEX|",
"Race": "|PATIENT RACE|",
"Height": "|LAST HEIGHT|",
"Weight": "|LAST WEIGHT|",
"Creatinine": "|LAST LAB CREATININE 2|"
Run the template in a new EHR note or addendum.
Ctrl+A to select the data from the EHR.
Ctrl+C to copy or Ctrl+X (preferred method because you don't want those input data remaining in the EHR note) to cut the data from the EHR.
Ctrl+V to paste the copied data into the textarea of the calculator. If the textarea is not empty before pasting, it is a safe practice to clear the textarea by clicking the Reset button.
Click the OK button to run the calculator.
If no creatinine is available from the EHR, the calculator will not work.
Sometimes, data retrieved from EHR are incomplete or incorrect, such as missing height/weight information or those information are incorrect (eg, 40 cm height for an adult), the copy paste-method may not work properly.
The copy-paste method is the preferred method becuase it reduces the error of manual input and also includes more information. For any reason, you don't want to use, or don't know how to use the copy-paste method, you can use the manual entry method
